Hi Steph, I’ve been chatting with you instagram. This is the style of solitaire that I’m looking for. My biggest question is what is .925 sterling with rhodium platinum.

@gelick It’s similar to “white gold” in that white gold is just a base of 14k yellow gold with a layer of rhodium platinum over it to give it the shiny silver color. To keep prices lower one can use solid sterling silver as the base and then coat it in a layer of rhodium platinum. The same on the outside for both but silver prices instead of gold prices.

@missstephlee ok so 10k white gold isn’t necessary?

@gelick Right. It’s kind of a jewelry marketing scheme that lesser jewelers use to make you think you’re getting gold quality but it’s less than half.

@gelick If you still decide you are okay with 10k then I’ll consider making it as long as I’ve told you exactly what it is. But between the 2 I recommend sticking to the precious metals & using sterling silver instead. It’ll cost less and not have any nickel in it (which is a skin irritant).
