Jean de La Fontaine, (1621–1695) French poet noted for his fables, which are considered among the masterpieces of French literature.

The vintage prints in this listing were removed from a circa 1890 copy of Cassell’s Doré Gallery. This volume had 250 prints of engravings selected from The Doré Bible, Milton, Dante’s Inferno, Purgatorio & Paridiso, Atala, LaFontaine, Fairy Realm, Don Quixote, Baron Munchausen, Croquemitaine and more.
Prints are overall 9¾” x 12¾” with image sizes varying. All have a generous margin. Margins may have some age discoloration, bent corners, minor damage. Any significant damage is noted.
