I normally wear a Large in tops/sweaters & I have this in gray in a Large, but to be honest with the open lace-up back I could’ve gone with either a Medium or Large & been happy with either. Neither is tight nor oversized on me. I personally do not feel there’s that much difference. Hope this helps 😊 ~Melissa
