Have that favorite item with an ugly stain? Find that beautiful item on sale and realize it’s stained? I want to share some tips on how I get many of my items looking great, often without requiring a trip to the dry cleaners. Disclaimer: I’m no expert in professional laundering, just sharing what I’ve done. The products I share to clean and disinfect work as directed on certain fabrics only. Use with caution. I am affiliated with many of the products mentioned so they are what I use.

mthill13@jessivydon Since it has colors make sure to soak in coldwater, if you do the Carbona follow directions with water temperature, but make sure to dissolve in the water first before adding garment. I messed up a dress because I added it directly to the garment and it almost had like a bleaching affect on the area i poured it on. I normally use a bucket so i can keep an eye on it and agitate as needed.

mthill13Sometimes taking a little extra time to get stains out on the front end, can increase your asking price for an item!! Unfortunately, There is not enough slide space to go into a lot of detail, so I just kept it general. If you have questions on caring for specific garments let me know, I'll see if I can help you work through it. I just washed a lot of stuff and missed taking before and after pictures. Maybe that will be part 2.

jessivydon@mthill13 This is a fabulous post!! I have a brand new sweater that I bought from someone (not knowing their home wasn’t smoke-free& I’m highly allergic). I soaked the sweater with something else that was new🤦‍♀️& it left a slight stain. I’ve gotten the odor out; however, I’ve used oxiclean, the dawn trick, baking soda& white vinegar, etc. & you can still slightly see the stain...on white! Any tips would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!💜

mthill13@jessivydon Hopefully you didn’t dry in the dryer as that may make it harder to get out. I would try a couple things....if it’s all white I would let it soak for a couple days...I would use my stain treatment spray, allow that to penetrate a little and then soak in all fabric bleach in the pictures or you can try the oxi-clean....

mthill13@jessivydon the other thing would be to try Carbona color run remover. I picked up at Walmart. I was able to get a black and white dress back to wearable condition although it faded the black a little. But if it’s all white I think it would be fine. Let me know what you try and how it does. If you want info on any of the other items I use I can send a link.

jessivydon@mthill13 Thank you SO much for the information!!! It’s blue& aqua so that makes it a little tougher. I rarely dry clothes in the dryer so I got lucky with that one! I TRULY appreciate everything so so much!!
