jenna21marie @elisescloset_ it is disgusting! These black market sellers don't care at all about the peoples health they are selling it too. I as well know someone who went blind and 1 who also stopped breathing and ended up in the ER due to such a horrible reaction. I have 100s of screenshots of confronting them and giving them the benefit of the doubt and they go nuts on me.

jenna21marie @elisescloset_ They get so disgustingly mean and will go to all ends to say its real to make that $. I hate it and wish posh would get them down so much sooner. They need REAL professionals monitoring posts or when people flag posts. Not leave it to all of us to do the job, which most people don't know the difference between real and fake makeup, purses, shoes etc.

jenna21marie @elisescloset_ agree, that's why I always try to post batch codes that can be easily looked up. Knowledge is key and everyone needs to be asking a few key questions before possibly giving someone their hard earned money. luckily posh will refund if that is the case but once again I am sure MANY people are not knowingly using fake product because they got a deal they couldn't resist.

rdundon89 You’re literally the best! I’m definitely watching this soon as finals are over. But it’s crazy though that almost every brand has someone making fake counterfeit of their products. And I already told you I used fake Better Than Sex mascara and it was the whole tube I used. But never bought it again cause it seemed different but didn’t want to waste my money.

It is insane, the scariest part to me which I don't remember them even touching on but that black market makeup is usually funding illegal activities and human trafficking!!!! They knew what it was, that it was harming people and dangerous and they were just laughing when being asked about it. Then when they said some have had like feces other bodily fluids SO NASTY!

georgia405 @jenna21marie girl, I SOOO feel this. I’ve been reporting closets of fake makeup since I started selling on posh. I honestly think that as long as they say fakes aren’t allowed in the rules they really don’t want to lose the $$ from those sales. It’s dangerous and gross and infuriating.

Posh has taken down more honest and good sellers closets down then the actual POS scammers who sell that garbage and put peoples health on the line. We can report and email them all we want and their pages will still stay but god forbid I make a post blasting them then they review my page 🤷‍♀️ I was infuriated. I have heard the BBB is 1 way to reach them and get change going though idk.

georgia405 @jenna21marie 💯 Fakes are why I took 90% of my inventory away. I was Posh-only for years, but when they allow fakes yet still have the highest fees, it’s a joke. Plus all the fake closets are why we get so many lowball offers. Someone searches for a product, sees a listing that’s 80% off retail, then wants that price in the nice closets with pretty pictures. So it hurts the legit sellers, plus hurts Posh’s reputation. It’s becoming more & more like Amazon/e-Bay, but with way higher fees.

Definitely makes you think twice about purchasing products that you don’t know where it’s coming from, like eBay. (I purchased a lime crime liquid lipstick off of eBay once & of course when it was shipped to me it was a fake, not even matching the color of the shade name)

All the horror stories I have heard of honest sellers getting screwed on there but yet all of these sellers in differently countries selling black market makeup are allowed on there no problem?! Some of these platforms are all about the $$ and don't care otherwise I suppose. All I see on there is fake makeup from another country or DHGate makeup 🤮

jenna21marie @georgia405 That is all so so true and valid! I have emailed them countless times giving them a run down of what they nees to do ASAP if they want to keep existing basically. They should listen to those lining their pockets. They need to stop caring about "posh n sips" and stop having all of us work for free for them by doing the "review these" BS and hire some real professionals to take over. Once they added in the taxes also along with the fees this app has slowed down sooo much 🤦‍♀️

jenna21marie @dyell_grimes awe well you can tag me anytime if you are ever hesitant. I can easily spot fakes from a mile away. Each brand and item has its own things to be able to tell. You can always google the item real vs fake and it will show you side by side the real and fake of any item. usually shades will be dull and off, shades names will be misspelled, there usually won't be a batch code

I've been reading about the Posh Protect too.. which sounds good but I wonder if it's hard to prove your case if something is fake.. And I'm curious.. I saw you have a Natasha Denona palette without a box. Is that normal? Like, is that something I will come across frequently? At first I was hesitant about that item, but then I saw you posted this..

jenna21marie @dyell_grimes yes you can always ask for them to take a pic of the batch code and you can even look up the batch code online and make sure its to the correct item. if your ever skeptical of a seller also ask them to take a pic of the item(s) with a paper and name a date. usually someone with multiple backgrounds is a red flag and most likely stolen pics.

jenna21marie @dyell_grimes I have had mine stolen so many times and sadly used to scam many people. People will steal pics, pretend its theirs and then send fakes. luckily posh has a good return policy but its best to stick with known sellers or sellers with some positive feedback atleast

jenna21marie @dyell_grimes Posh has good customer service so its pretty easy. you just have to take pics of whats off and show what makes it fake. They will have to return for a refund and anything over $300 or $500 I cant remember has to be sent to be authenticated first.

jenna21marie @dyell_grimes just depends if the person kept the box or not is all. The box doesn't tell everything though. Just by the palette alone you should be able to tell if an item is real or fake by the shades, font, mirror, batch #, etc.

Fake cosmetics are just so scary. I love makeup so much and when I buy something it's so exciting and fun and something just for me. hartleyb83 I watched it a while back and I am SOOO glad that I did! It truly opened my eyes to how bad the counterfeit cosmetics industry is. I knew it was a huge market but I had no clue exactly how big it really was! I watched a documentary last night and all of the knock off skin lightening creams had over 40x's the legal limit of MERCURY in it!!! 😱

jenna21marie @aroberry90 Oh I know, I am in Oregon and we stopped recycling like a year or 2 ago sadly. All because China refused to stop buying our garbage because it was "too dirty" so it put a huge halt on recycling. Luckily they are finally starting some other programs finally to cut back on plastic usage etc. I always think of the sea animals when it comes to recycling :(

jenna21marie @aroberry90 I just use Google and Youtube, if there is a specific product just type it in with real vs fake and it will show you. Also look up products on DHGate because alot of people are buying them on there for a few bucks and then trying to sell and pass them off on here. If you ever have any questions also or hesitant feel free to message or tag me. I can spot fakes a mile away now lol.

There is everything you can imagine between Oregon, WA and also BC and Canada. Every town is so different too and has its own charm. Plus the people are so different! That was the biggest thing that stood out to me and pushed me to move out here. One day I hope to move to Bellingham 🤞 It is so beautiful there and the people are great.

It is all just research and learning, just about every product sadly has a fake replica product made of it so its good to learn the most tell tale signs. Usually wording is off, no batch code, shades are different or lack pigment, misspellings etc.
