jerseyglam @mik_a Hi! Looking at this brands size chart now - I would go with the size 3X. A Size 3X is for a 40" waist but a size 2X for your hips - I think it is more important to fit the waist size since there is where it has elastic running across and your waist size falls under the size 3X which is a size 18.

mik_a @jerseyglam Okay! Is the waistband resting at 40 or is it stretchy and flexes to 40? Just want to make sure it won’t be too loose! My waist fluctuates typically between being 38-40

jerseyglam @mik_a Flat and unstretched the waist band is about 16" across but its super stretchy and not tight and stretches easily to about 20" across one way so you have plenty of room either way. It won't be loose or tight.
