meggiemyoung @cirqueish have you ever gotten pet Insurance? We have 2 cats in addition to our dog, and with this last adoption we got Trupanion and omg I thank them daily in my mind. Surgery ALONE was $2,000- And they paid $90%. Not to mention the deductibles and monthly etc- but without it I don’t know what we would have done. I’m a crazy cat lady too tho- equal opportunist!

secondhandwitch @meggiemyoung I’ve heard of pet insurance but never seriously looked into it. One of my buddies is now a senior though, so I may need to consider. Does it also help with cost of food?

meggiemyoung @cirqueish they do - Vet Rx food, meds, any type of therapy, x rays, tests—- BUT 1) has to all be related to the same issue and 2) can’t be pre existing. So it prob wouldn’t be a benefit for your senior feline :( but our future animals will always have it after this experience. We adopted bear when he was 1 and had zero pet Records. Most likely he was born with the luxating patella but since we didn’t know until Post Insurance we were able to get coverage for anything related to it.

He’s got issues with his digestive system, but is undiagnosed with anything. I’m not sure if having records of reoccurring diarrhea will exclude him from being eligible, though 😕
