Hi ladies, a lot of the "Brand New Never Worn" jewelry that has recently been listed under Anthropologie is FAKE! Anthropologie has a very distinct quality and each season the store adheres to a specific design!
Please check the website and familarize yourself with each season's theme and look for the specific tags that Anthro uses!
Please keep your eyes open! Also, a lot of the fake anthro jewelry is cross-listed on other sites from China!

@nakedpersimmon Hey girl, you liked one of the listings! Just wanted to warn you.

Happens so often it's become discouraging to try to find authentic Anthro. Plus...all those pushers who list "for exposure". But at least that's honest! ☮️🐾
May 27Reply

kamchotka
@barbloveseattle Agreed!!!😥 Makes me so upset! I collect the older anthro earrings; it's so frustrating combing through all the fakes :(
May 27Reply

nakedpersimmon
@kamchotka yeah, I kinda figured. I've seen a lot of fake "Anthro" jewelry lately. Thanks for the heads up!
May 27Reply

kamchotka
@nakedpersimmon You got it!💕

@miloandsparky Hi dear, you liked a fake listing too! Wanted to let you know!

miloandsparky
Thank you for letting me know. I know you're the expert on vintage anthropologie jewelry. I'm familiar with the newer jewelry Anthro sells, but not the vintage items.
May 27Reply

kamchotka
@nymoore Hey girl, saw them on E_b_a_y💕

@kamchotka thanks Kami! I know, I've liked several that aren't actually anthro. I just like a bunch of stuff to try and get ideas! Thank you for looking out for me! 👍😍

@amyfujimoto Always got your back!😀

@jaynaz Hey girl, saw your comments on al2982's listings. Yes, all her jewelry listed under Anthro is fake. I confirmed with the Philly district manager.
May 28Reply

kamchotka
@jaynaz She and "brittfletch" have been reported multiple times; very unfortunate they're getting away with it 😥 I love that you called her out!!!👍
May 28Reply

kamchotka
@ljgio76 Awww!😭 I think they're not sure what is real or fake, so they leave it up to us to report it💕

Don't even get me started on Anthropologie tagged clothing items. I've contacted posh and they have told me to email support with screenshots of incorrectly tagged items as Anthro. So far I've been sending 15 emails a day and I plan to keep it up.
Jul 05Reply

kamchotka
@theanthroaddict Hey girl!!!💕 I do it too! Yay to us!!!👍 So glad you feel the same!
Jul 05Reply

theanthroaddict
@kamchotka I have spent the better part of 6 months learning and gathering all the brands that Anthro sells. It's so insulting and ridiculous that Posh does nothing to listings that are incorrectly tagged. I've even created a blog with a database of over 400 images of tags taken either in store, or from a verified Anthro piece that is a great tool. Just really gets under my skin that Posh does nothing.
Jul 05Reply

theanthroaddict
@kamchotka And heads up. Tulle is not an Anthro brand. Saw you commented on a listing marked as Anthro but the brand tulle. 😀
Jul 05Reply

kamchotka
@theanthroaddict I hear you!💕 I purchased a cardigan from Anthro about 10 years ago from Tulle, but they dropped the brand shortly after. They haven't contracted since then, so I am always suspicious now!😁
Jul 05Reply

kamchotka
@theanthroaddict I really, really get on people about fake jewelry; there is a ton listed right now that is cheap crap from China 😠😈😵

Mar 01Reply

kamchotka
@alenasomova Ofcourse! Tag me in the listing or just let me know the name of the seller, without the tag of course 💟

drayindallas
Hi. Just rcvd a necklace listed as "Anthropologie Statement Necklace" from seller "behollander1". Concerned as it feels rather light and now I am thinking it might be a fake. Does it look right to you? thanks for your help.
Apr 13Reply

drayindallas
It was only $10. So not so much about the money but about an honest listing...
Apr 13Reply

kamchotka
@drayindallas Hi, I checked her listings and unfortunately none of her listed items are from Anthropologie. I asked our manager too :-( sorry hun.
Apr 13Reply

drayindallas
Thank you for checking.
Apr 13Reply

kamchotka
@drayindallas Of course. Tag me anytime 🌺
Apr 13Reply

fashcake
@kamchotka Does Anthropology have a trademark that it inscribes on the inside of its jewelry pieces? Seems like that would make the authentication process much easier.
Jan 17Reply

kamchotka
@fashcake Hi. No, not really. For some pieces that are designed and produced in house, yes sometimes, but we typically outsource to individual designers for their pieces. The issue hasn't yet been resolved by corporate, so it's up to Anthropologie experts and employees to keep listings kosher.

Fakes are all over the place. There are so called boutiques that list they’re rings as 18k gold over silver, ect. And in actuality they are purchased from China for $2 a piece. And they are sterling silver plated. There is a seller on here that sells tons of jewelry and everything on his site are items bought from China that are low quality. Very frustrating for those of us who are honest!!!
Apr 29Reply

kamchotka
@gr8day2posh Totally agree!!! 😓 I try to report, but Posh gets paid either way. ugh.
Apr 29Reply

gr8day2posh
I really like your anthropology jewelry! So pretty. It’s too bad they don’t have a hallmark stamp, that want fakes would be detected more easily!!!
Apr 29Reply

kamchotka
@gr8day2posh I know. Some do, if we're selling direct from a designer but our anthro line isn't stamped. :-/
Apr 29Reply

kamchotka
@gr8day2posh (Thanks for your nice compliment!) 💙

@kamchotka I saw you liked that beetle necklace 🙃 it was actually mine- I’m using her as a reseller bc I had no time to do it anymore 💕 all of her anthro necklaces are mine.
Jun 15Reply

kamchotka
@nystarlight1 I figured! :) Looked familiar! 😁

@kamchotka , thanks for posting and warning others. I too have bought some fake looks like Shein they came in plastic bags from China, not their Anthropologie cards . I have some real earrings that I have bought from Anthropologie and Urban Outfitters and they are nothing like the earrings I got. The ones I got are cheap and their designs are too simple. The real earrings I have are alot more complicated to make.
Jun 02Reply

kamchotka
@sarahjones77 I'm sorry to hear this happened to you! It is a huge issue that is difficult to control :( Luckily there is a huge Anthro community here that looks out for everyone. If you're ever suspicious, feel free to tag me. I can try to authenticate them at work 👍
Jun 02Reply

sarahjones77
@kamchotka thanks 😊.it definitely is out of control . I was wondering if you happen to know the name or have seen a certain pair of earrings. I just posted them in my store not for sale. I lost one and have been looking for a replacement for them for several years. Thanks.
Jun 02Reply

annafishy69
@kamchotka I've have these marked 925, look like anthro? do they mark them specifically anywhere ?

mariehaller33
How do I prove to poshmark that my recent purchase is fake anthro jewelry?
Apr 06Reply

kamchotka
@mariehaller33 If you can find it on another selling site in mass quantities then it's likely fake; if the jewelry has a different insignia than on the anthro website, if it doesn't have any tags or any identifiers at all. Anthro stopped doing "sample sales" many years ago, so now everything should have some type of a designer or identifier. If you google lens it and it comes up under brand, that is a dead giveaway too. You're welcome to tag me as well.
Apr 06Reply

mariehaller33
@kamchotka thank you so much, so can you tell me if this was poshmark or a scam?…. i had listed a prada cross body bag I got from an estate sale and i could of sworn it was real because the sale had all authentic items at it, and when it sold the buyer had it authenticated
Apr 07Reply

mariehaller33
and to my surprise it was not real! I was embarrassed but honest mistake, poshmark granted a refund and never told buyer to return item, and i got a looked it up and poshmark states they are not required to return designer replicas, so who keeps the item?
Apr 07Reply

kamchotka
@mariehaller33 Oh wow, really? Usually buyers have to return items no matter what. I've never heard of a buyer getting to keep an item. Sorry to hear that :(
Apr 07Reply

kamchotka
@mariehaller33 Always, always reach out to customer service directly until you get answers because that's very strange. Sellers always get their items back.
Apr 07Reply

kamchotka
@mariehaller33 Oh yes, she has been reported many, many times over the years. None of her jewelry is Anthropologie and she tags for exposure. Most anthro folks just block her and report her.
