I recently had an order from a customer who magnet tested a sterling silver pair of earrings and posted feedback saying the earrings were not sterling silver. I want to inform you this is not an accurate way to test sterling silver because many of the alloys used in sterling silver are magnetic. The only accurate way to test sterling silver is with 18 karat Jewelers acid. Do not use acid without the proper protection as it eats through skin, even after you flush with water!
