karintThey are! I was at a dog park once and on that day a college kid brought his pit bull there for the purpose of fighting other dogs. His dog started to go after mine and this beautiful, enormous Mastiff walked right in between them completely blocking my dog from the attack. Unfortunately he ended up getting bitten (I'll spare you the details) but I've never forgotten the nobility of that gentle giant. Truly special dogs, lucky you!
