rmccouture@michelasumma92 Heu Michela! I never got the photo from you wearing this! Maybe you can take one this weekend? The earrings that you were referring to that I sold were actually mini-christmas ball ornaments! I made them myself. I bought the balls at Michael's, and attached the to regular earrings. You may be able to find them there now that the season is coming up (cont)

Sep 30Reply

rmccouture@michelasumma92 You could also just google "twiggy ball earrings" (they were inspired by earrings that Twiggy wore in a photo shoot, "oversized ball earrings" "disco ball earrings", etc. i have some oversized earrings that may work, but I'm not sure if I"ll have a chance to photograph them for you. If I see anything on PM, I'll definitely keep an eye out and tag you. I'm so excited that you're going to get to wear the dress out!❤️❤️❤️

May 25Reply

karens54@rmccouture Sharing and empowering other women is what it's all about here! I make it a point to share closets I love as well as women who share mine. I try to do it in the morning over coffee and/or late night. I'm a night owl who loves sleeping in.

May 26Reply

karens54@rmccouture my weekend was good, lots of time in the kitchen. My friend came down and brought a few items for Poshmark which I put in my closet. She set up her own account but not sure how to switch the listings over, need to figure that out. Hope you had a good weekend. We had hoped to spend some time down at the beach but spent most of our time inside...still cold here!

May 26Reply

theclosetcase@rmccouture ~ Such a tough vintage to find, I've owned two in 30 years of collecting. Beautiful example of Paganne.

May 29Reply

rmccouture@theclosetcase Thanks so much Marilee! I love Paganne. Gene Berk did such an amazing job with op-art, especially in the black and white pieces. I had so much fun creating this listing (although I wish that I had been wearing more period appropriate shoes!) Do you ever wear your Pagannes? I have two others; one I will put up in a few weeks, but the other was cut down the neckline by the original owner, so I doubt anyone would want it... You never know though!

May 29Reply

rmccouture@theclosetcase Most people do not know who Paganne is, because it's not as popular among the masses, so I've found pieces in very unlikely places. This one, which I've had for years, I believe I purchased at an estate sale. I didn't even know the designer at the time, I just knew that it was amazing... Have a great night!❤️‍❤️‍

May 29Reply

theclosetcase@rmccouture I am no longer the right size. My goddaughter has been raiding my closets and everything fits. My love of fashion is being passed on to the next generation. But she's not getting the Irene dress until she's 30. Her face us still too young! Your closet is wonderful, I've collected vintage costume and Mexican silver and my aunt gifted mepieces she bought in the 1950s. Loved seeing your pieces. I have marked a couple of things to show a friend. Have a great evening!

rmccouture@alexislovebee Forgot to tag you above! I just looked at the messages. The only one I have from you was the "Yay!" from last week (which I loved, btw!)❤️

May 31Reply

alexislovebeeNoo its ok, just wanted to make sure the invitation made it your way girl. Theres always next time, which for sure is happening real soon ( : 😘😘

May 31Reply

rmccouture@alexislovebee Thank you beauty ! I hope so. I really want to hang out with you! My daughter is going away to camp for 2 months at the end of June, so I'll be "single" all summer! ❤❤ Idk if you saw the updated photos of that chain vest you liked. It sold, but I actually took the photos with you in mind. The mannequin didn't do it justice! ❤❤

Jun 01Reply

tippiejaxAbsolutely amazing! I LOVE mod anything!!!

Jun 09Reply

rmccouture@tippiejax This is my favorite photograph shoot so far, with the chainmale/mesh dragon bag being a close second. Those photos came out amazing! I hope that you had a good day trip yesterday!

Jun 09Reply

michelasumma92I understand what you are saying about the shows but I think you styled it perfectly! I see myself wearing this! From the cuffs to the collar it looks like it is so beautifully made ❤️

Jun 11Reply

michelasumma92Hi Amanda! 😃 I have been looking through your closet all morning because I really can't stop thinking about this dress every single day since I saw it! Some things are just meant to be I think ❤️

Jun 17Reply

michelasumma92I would love to show you the skirt on me! I have paired it with a pink crop top from Abercrombie and it looks so cute! I can't wait to wear it when I go for a long weekend getaway on the 4th of July weekend! 😃😃. So I've decided that I must make an offer on this dress. I'm hoping you will not lose a lot of money if you accept my offer! It's very expensive but it's also very unique.Thank you so much for your kind words and the beauty you add ❤️❤️❤️

Jun 17Reply

michelasumma92Hi Amanda! I'd love to submit a higher offer if possible!

Jun 17Reply

rmccouture@michelasumma92 Hey honey. I'm sorry I haven't responded to your very generous offer yet. I am sort of hoping to get my asking price, to be honest. It's such a phenomenal dress, and I'm selling it on sites other than PM... I also want to just GIVE it to you! I am a terrible saleswoman. Really, I am! I'm running out for about a hour, and will get back to you when I return. We can try to work something out!❤️

Jun 17Reply

michelasumma92Lol! You aren't a bad saleswomen you are just kindhearted! ❤️ I feel like if I don't get a hold of this dress I will be disappointed in myself. I absolutely understand the pricing. I would love to work with you to meet you somewhere in the middle.

Jun 18Reply

rmccouture@michelasumma92 Sorry! My hour turned into several! I really would like to sell you this dress, and I mean that. I am in a tight spot. I am moving this summer, and the reason why I am selling my things on PM is because I was in a really bad car accident in March 2014, and suffered a brain trauma that has prevented me from teaching, which is what I had been doing for 15 years prior to the accident...

Jun 18Reply

rmccouture@michelasumma92 I can and do go way down on my prices for 90% of my items, but there are a few that I know are worth more than I have them listed for, and I don't feel like it's wise to sell things that actually increase in value as time goes on. Most things lose value over time. The only thing that really consistently gains value, in terms of culture, is art.

Jun 18Reply

rmccouture@michelasumma92 This dress, and the condition that it is in, would be considered by many to be a work of art. It is also rare to find a dress like this, so my feeling about it, right now, is that if I don't sell it, I'd rather store it safely and sell it in another 10 years for even more. That being said, I am in a financially challenging place, so my feelings on selling it for less could change in an instant...

Jun 18Reply

rmccouture@michelasumma92 I really would love to sell you this dress Michela. I have others that are similar, and I will tag you on them when I post them. I hate to say no to you... It really bothers me. I'm telling you that if I had my way, all of my things would be given to other people. I like to barter and live in the most loving way possible, but I have to give the love to my daughter and furbabies right now. It's not where I want to be, but it's where I am at this time. I'm sorry...

Jun 18Reply

michelasumma92Good morning Amanda, I apologize for my delayed response. I am so so sorry to hear about your accident. I will never understand why the universe will give the best people so much grief. I understand having to support your family in the strongest way possible and selling your possessions is a selfless act. You are a wonderful mother. 🌺 For this beautiful dress, I am very new to vintage items and talking to you has given me more insight and knowledge as well as just looking at your unique closet.

Jun 19Reply

michelasumma92I would like to purchase this dress and hit the buy now button but I have a quick question. I still have to take a picture of my skirt for you! It fits like a glove but it definitely on the tighter side more like an XS. Is this dress tight as well? Or since it is shaped more like a shift does it for more along the lines of a size 2/4?

Jun 19Reply

rmccouture@michelasumma92 Good morning beauty! Thank you for your kind words regarding my accident. I believe that "when bad things happen to good people" they happen so that those people can become better people. Having this injury has changed me. I suppose that I needed to change, and I'm hard-headed! I grow at the speed of pain! Being injured like I am has made me a lot more grateful for what I do have, a lot more compassionate, and a lot more humble.

Jun 19Reply

rmccouture@michelasumma92 There is not much that I take for granted now, and my understanding of what is really important has been fortified and strengthened. I will come out on the other side of this experience with the unique ability to help others who are in similar positions have hope that they can get through whatever it is that they are going through, because I will tell them what I have gone through, and have the gift of hope to share.

Jun 19Reply

rmccouture@michelasumma92 I haven't had one experience that I haven't been able to use to help someone else. My darkest, most challenging times have turned into my greatest assets, because I can refer to them to others who are in the dark, and be a beacon of light. It's really a beautiful thing, in hindsight, but going through it is bitch and a half! Lol!

Jun 19Reply

rmccouture@michelasumma92 As far as the sizing on the dress, it is a lot less restrictive than the skirt. You must be REALLY tiny! I could button the skirt, but it was too tight for my liking. The dress, on the other hand, is sooo comfortable to wear. It's A-line, so there's no waist, and it fits me perfectly. I'm about 5'5" and probably a size 0-2. I used to wear it when I was a size 6, and it looked just as good, if not better!

Jun 19Reply

rmccouture@michelasumma92 It's SHORT, so if you wear it as a dress, you really should wear biker shorts underneath, unless of course, you are a hussy, in which case, hussy on! (that is a joke!) If you decide to buy it, I will throw in some goodies that you can wear with it, like jewelry and stuff. Also, I have it listed on my Instagram page, raidmyclosetcouture. I STRONGLY suggest checking my instagram out. Like, really strongly recommend... like, check out my instagram and message me there!❤️Lol

rmccouture@tikey9 I would share your closet back, but you don't have anything posted there yet!❤️

Jul 11Reply

tikey9Thank you luv! I do not have anything posted yet, still trying to find time to do so ☺️ However, I have been buying! 😉

Jul 11Reply

rmccouture@tikey9 It doesn't have to be all that time consuming, but I hear you in terms of finding time. I take all of my own photos, including this one! I prop my phone up on a tripod and take a video. Then I have to watch the video and pause it where I think it looks like it would make a good photo, take a screen shot, and then edit! You don't have to go that crazy posting on posh, but it's rewarding when the images come out like these did!❤️

Jul 11Reply

rmccouture@tikey9 And there's no better place to shop than Poshmark! Although, sometimes it can get a tad bit out of control! Lol!❤️

Jul 17Reply

cali_galI just read the above conversations…. Firstly, I am SO sorry about the accident and interrupted life! I have a similar story… Secondly, I appreciate all the work you put into your photos! I do the same thing, except the video idea is excellent! 'I shoulda had a V-8!' I take burst photos but I like the video idea! These photos and the dress are amazing!!!!!💕

Jul 18Reply

cali_galPS if you and Alexis get together, don't gorget to invite me! @rmccouture @alexislovebee 🌺

Jul 18Reply

rmccouture@cali_gal I'm sorry to hear that you had a similar experience to me.... The video thing is a great idea (although sharing your items, and other items in the feed during party time is PROBABLY a better idea in terms of sales promotions! Lol!) If you are EVER in NY, or if Alexis @alexislovebee and I hightail it out to CA, there's no way we wouldn't kidnap you for a night or 2!

Jul 21Reply

thewiredgoatI've looked high & low in your closet & I am head over heels in love.💙💖💓💕💟💝💘Jewelry, clothing,photos...all so beautiful.

Jul 31Reply

rmccouture@thewiredgoat Thank you SO much Amy! I take all of my own photos (even the ones of me!) and have really begun to explore the idea of "silent film" via photography. I used to act and direct and do all sorts of things with the theater, but I was in a car accident in 2014 that has pretty much rendered me homebound, which is why I ended up on PM (cont.)

Jul 31Reply

rmccouture@thewiredgoat Not only is this the nicest community of women I'd ever want to meet, but it also gives me an outlet for creative expression that I totally didn't expect to find. Your compliments really mean a lot to me, probably more than you could have realized by looking at the pics! ❤️ Amanda

Jul 31Reply

thewiredgoatAmanda, Unbelievable! You take your own pics!!?? You have been given a gift. The way the colors in your closet flow together are amazing too. I agree there seems to be an unusual phenomenon of kindness on PM. In a society where people are really self absorbed, a culture has been established on PM where its popular to love & help one another get ahead promoting posh.

Aug 01Reply

thewiredgoatI can actually see you mentoring new sellers in putting together an aesthetically pleasing closet. Come to think of it, I could use that kind of help.LOL I always seem to be trying to have my pics compliment each other rather than appear clashing & completely unrelated. I'm not sure about how silent film fits in here but we may be on to something 😉😉😉

Aug 01Reply

thewiredgoatTrue . After reading some comments on this thread, you may just have to change your name to Amazing.😘

Aug 01Reply

rmccouture@thewiredgoat BAHAHAHAHA! I do have a moniker that a friend of mine used to use for me; he called me "Amandisaster!" I was a disaster... still am in way too many ways! But I am also very passionate about using my experience to help others, and "paying it forward". BTW, I drive myself completely nuts trying to share my closet in a way that is holistically pleasing, only to have them come out of order (for no apparent reason) after I organize them...

Aug 01Reply

rmccouture@thewiredgoat If I spent 1% of the time at home organizing my things as I spend in my cyber-closet, my life would be so much more manageable, it's not even close to being funny! I suggest you stop worrying about how the closet looks as a whole, and put your focus on creating your cover shots. I'm going to take a look at your closet now...

Aug 01Reply

rmccouture@thewiredgoat I left you a note on your Hermes scarf. Other than that, your closet looks great. The only advice I have is to model the items if you can, and try using a white sheet behind whatever you are photographing. That will give the backgrounds consistency, and perhaps you will feel more confident about the flow...

Aug 01Reply

rmccouture@thewiredgoat Photos taken outside at dusk, when the sun is still out but not direct, come out best. You can also do this in the morning, but natural sunlight is the best way to go!

Aug 01Reply

thewiredgoatWhere should I send my check for your consulting fee? What great advice! Invaluable to me. Thank you a ton! I will be listing tomorrow & will try to do a couple of things differently . Especially with the Hermes scarf. I have had the same theory myself. Need to follow my instinct. So, thank you so much. Im really glad our paths crossed. Ill keep you updated about the scarf. 💕💟💓💛💖💞

Aug 02Reply

mishaTrès jolie, ridiculously amazing, ugh, yep, I'm an addict😊

Aug 06Reply

mishaI am literally dying over this dress, I would trade you two beautiful vintage handbags and a rare Gaultier dress for it, but I realize trades are tricky, and as you don't know me it's an issue of trust💋. Crushing on this closet in Minnesota😩

Aug 06Reply

mishaWould you say this would fit a size 6-7? I'm usually 126 lbs.

Aug 06Reply

rmccouture@misha Hey Michelle! I believe that I was around a size 6 when I purchased this dress, which I never wore as a dress! Lol! It's too short for my taste! I can lie it out and get you the measurements, if you're interested!❤️ Thanks so much for all of your likes and shares!❤️ Amanda

Aug 06Reply

mishaThanks Amanda, I wish this was in my budget😢. Me too, I would have to wear leggings or tights underneath, thank God for the resurgence✌️. I'll let you know if I inherit some money so that I can purchase everything in your closet. Merci beaucoup for sharing such beautiful things. I had to stop looking, it's killing me😘

rmccouture@misha Hey Michelle! I hope you're having a great weekend. Just wanted to give you a head's up. I'm having a 30% off bundle sale today. Not sure what your budget is, but just in case, thought you would want to know! Sending ❤️ and light!

Aug 09Reply

bkcritiqueYou a model or actress?

Aug 09Reply

buymygoodssI realllyyyy want this :(

Aug 09Reply

mishaI have the money for this dress, however, unfortunately, I have to be a responsible adult and use my property tax refund for bills😢. Thank you for letting me know, still dying over this😘

Aug 10Reply

rmccouture@bkcritique I was never a professional actress or model. I was/am a teacher, but I can't do that either right now, unfortunately. A good actress knows how to model, and a good model knows how to act! I think that they can be synonymous in many situations!

Aug 10Reply

rmccouture@redbonevintage Lol! Than buy it silly! Choose 2 other cheap items and you'll get 30% off the whole bundle! I'm having a bundle sale. It's worth it. I wouldn't encourage anyone to buy something unless I really believed it was true. Integrity is extremely important to me❤️

Aug 10Reply

bkcritiqueYou are a good beautiful mode & you are a good actress base on your facial emotion. One day soon, you will be almost back to 100% & you will be able to do things that you used to do without limitations. Take care.

Sep 03Reply

rmccouture@dezchic It's a lot of fun Denise. Thank you. This is actually the first listing that I did that I was really proud of. I take all of my own photos, even this one. I make movies of myself using a tripod on my phone, then take screen shots and edit them down. This series was the first one that I found artistically rewarding. The dress lends itself to fun and a feeling of freedom. Thanks so much for stopping by to comment! I really appreciate it! ❤️Amanda

Sep 03Reply

dezchic@rmccouture @cmjla introduced me to your closet before via a stunning necklace - striking - that we commented on. Just got a minute to visit some more! You've done a great job merchandising and bringing your closet to life! It helps that you have beautiful things too 😍

Sep 03Reply

rmccouture@dezchic Cynthia @cmjla is the best! Thank you for the compliment. I am really a terrible sales person. I'm a teacher, but can't teach right now because of an injury I have. Doing this is not easy for me, but the posh community has been so wonderful and supportive, and they have helped me to see how I can sell, engage in creative expression, and create real, honest, authentic friendships. It's such a blessing for me to be on here, you have no idea!❤️❤️

Sep 03Reply

dezchic@rmccouture I'm so sorry to hear about your injury! But glad you are finding fulfillment here. I am over the moon with my experience so far. Meeting folks like Cynthia for example. We have so much fun! And I love sharing my closet treasures and finding others who will enjoy them and who they will fit!! Hugs - Denise

michelasumma92Hi Amanda! It's been a while since our last communication on this wonderful dress! I really wanted to buy it but it's still out of my budget. I know you said that if you are ever looking to sell it right away I will take it for that same offer. Please feel free to totally decline! I know this dress is worth more than the offer as it really is a beautiful piece of artwork. I just wanted to let you know that I'm still here and still in love ❤️ l post my offer in the offer button just in case!

It was very generous; I just need the money, unfortunately. You never posted a pic wearing the skirt I sold you! I wanted to see you wearing it. ❤️❤️

seahawksfanCan't get this post out of my head since seeing it a couple days ago. I think it's probably too small for me, but just for shiggles could you provide measurements with it lying flat? I think you mentioned you might do so earlier in thread but I couldn't find the numbers. I know you said it's about a 6; I'm usually an 8, sometimes a 6 depending on fit (my bust is a 34C). Usually vintage items run small so I'm hesitant to consider this, but wanted to check for more info just in case... thanks!

Sep 13Reply

rmccouture@seahawksfan Ha! I've never seen the word "shiggles" before! Love it! That's twice in 24 hours that you made me smile Lisa! I will measure it for you asap❤️

Sep 13Reply

rmccouture@seahawksfan Okay, so laying flat, it's approximately 30" long. The shoulders are about 17". The chest is about 17" and the dress, at its widest, is about 20". I bought it when I was a size 8, and wore it as a top. It's very versatile. I hope this helps! ❤️

Sep 13Reply

seahawksfanThanks so much. Still stumped. Love it (of course! Who wouldn't?), but would be high risk size wise (and quite frankly, a splurge -- for me -- even if it fits). So I will continue to think about it and likely have it pop up in my dreams again tonight - ha! Is it basically polyester in terms of material? Any stretch/give to it? (See how I'm still grasping at straws asking questions?!?)? In the meantime I just purchased a bundle of some other of your lovely selections - again, thanks 😊

Sep 13Reply

seahawksfanp.s. Cracking up at how long it takes to scroll on my iPad from the top to the bottom of all the comments on this awesome listing 😀

Sep 13Reply

rmccouture@seahawksfan There's a trick to getting to the bottom without having to scroll. Just hit "comment". It will take you to the bottom of the screen. That's what I do! I'm so excited you bought the Lucite vest! I hope that you will model it for me, because I've never really been able to wear it correctly!

Sep 13Reply

rmccouture@seahawksfan The dress is, I believe, 100% polyester. It does have a good amount of give to it. Sorry to taunt you with information like that! If you change your mind between now and tomorrow, and the dress is still available, I can cancel your bundle order, and rebundle it for you with the dress included. It's a significant discount today because of the 30% bundle deal. Just saying! No pressure!

Sep 13Reply

seahawksfanTo your first reply, the thing is I don't see a way to immediately go from the bottom (after I read your most recent comments) back to the top so I can hit the "comment" button to reply, y'know? Or maybe I'm just slow (lol, still relatively new to Poshmark). To your second reply, GAHHHHH! YOU'RE KILLIN' ME! 😊

Sep 13Reply

seahawksfanActually, never mind about the scrolling thing. I just realized I can read the entire comment in my news feed thing and the do what you said. Got it!

Sep 17Reply

rmccouture@taste_of_sugar Thank you Sylvia! I take all of my own photos (of myself! Lol!) They're complicated selfies, and this was the first one I did that I really felt proud of. It was so kind of you to stop by and take the time out of your life to send me such a kind and appreciated compliment! I'm passing out, but will try and share your closet tomorrow! Thank you a agin beauty! ❤️Amanda

Sep 19Reply

rmccouture@taste_of_sugar Thank you again Sylvia! I wish I could get them all to look this good, but I'll take just one! If this ever sells, I might just leave the listing up because I'm proud of it!❤️

Sep 20Reply

rmccouture@taste_of_sugar 😘❤️ You're making me blush, but I agree with you, not because of what I look like, but because of the professional way it looks, and the contrast with the dress. It's a super-cool photo. I still can't believe I made it! Lol!

michelasumma92@rmccouture Hi Amanda! I'm finally going to wear this dress to a party next week!! I'm so excited and trying to put together the accessories. I think you already sold those ball drop earrings but do you know of any place at all that sells them or what they would be called? I also remember some earrings that you sold that were big triangles. Thank you for the help! I hope you and your family are doing well! <3
