dotseyqueenOh my God I wish I could hug your dad. That's funny I'm just sitting here missing mine. He was my best friend. I took care of him through his Alzheimer's journey to the end which was now 2 years ago. It's amazing how time goes by it truly is. Some say I missed a couple years of my life taking care of him. I would not trade those times for ANYTHING. God bless you and your Papa!

julieg1Sherri I'm so glad you will have that time with your father. Enjoy every minute. My dad, my hero passed unexpectedly when I was 21. When my mom was getting more frail I spent as much time as I could. I was with my the last six weeks of her life and there to the last breath. An experience I wouldn't trade for anything except her return. Make this time special. Enjoy👍👍👍💗💗💗

He got sick in May brought him home August the 1st. I took nights with him we spent many nights talking. 💞 lost his fight August 15. @6:15. Spend as much time as you can. linsleppoAwwww. That is SO HARD. I'm the ADON at a retirement home and the guilt is so hard on some family members. But caregiver stress is very very real and I've seen so many caregivers get sick themselves trying to keep their loved ones at home. I think the best compliment I receive at work is when a family member says "I can finally sleep easy at night because I know he/she's being taken care of"

Because you have to sleep, you have to eat, and you have to have time with your hubby and kiddo. 😥 I told Matt, put me in a home if you can't care for me. I only gave 1 requirement, I only want to be dressed in muu muus, absolutely NO PANTS. 😂😂👏🏼

I think he would be happier in an assisted living where there is more freedom as he loves to be outdoors .... Second to living with one of his kids !! I spent the majority of last summer, and a good deal of time this year with him in the hospital. It is the most loving act in the world to take in a parent, and gives you the opportunity to give an iota back to the man who gave you so much.

kaboodle_closet@vivacouture Bless you and your father. My father passed away this January to pancreatic cancer. He was told last April that he was diagnosed with it and then gone in January. The best advice I can give is to Cherish all these memories as much as you can with your daddy right now. I miss mine so, so much. However, I will always remember our good times. 😊

My father reminds me each moment he can that its a mitzvah what I am doing and I do it with all my heart to give him the peace and love he deserves after such a hard life he has lived along with being far away from his children for over 2 decades . So bringing him to me was a gift for our family as well ! My time with him is limited and so meaningful !

I took care of him through his Alzheimer's journey to the end which was now 2 years ago. It's amazing how time goes by it truly is. Some say I missed a couple years of my life taking care of him.
