Please don't disrespect sellers with ridiculous lowball offers. This isn't a garage sale. I try to keep my closet priced in a reasonable range yet still be flexible on pricing, especially when bundling. But offering $10 for an item that is listed at $30 is kinda crazy. Everyone likes a deal, but please realize those of us using this as an extra source of income can't afford to give things away for next to nothing. Keep it classy and respectful & please don't negotiate in the comments.

dannielynn8I am fairly new and I was told to ask to lower the price in the comments section.If I use the offer button and the person excepts It will not lower shipping. I was told to ask that they lower the price wait for the lowered shipping and if they want to keep it at the lowered price they can if not they can raise the price back and still get the lowered shipping. I set all my stuff to be lowered by25% so people get a lower shipping. Is there another way of doing this without asking in the comments?

poshinistajen@dannielynn8 The lower shipping rates are usually only $1 less than normal unless it is a higher priced item. Like for an item $50 or more it may be $2.99 shipping or free shipping if it is over $100. But the price decline has to be at least 10% off the lowest historical price. So you can't play with the prices and go back and forth.

poshinistajen@dannielynn8 The only way around that is to create a brand new listing with a high price, ask the buyer to "like" it and then drop the price to the negotiated price and it should trigger cheaper shipping. Not all sellers are willing to do this. I am always willing to do this on bundles for people. Sellers really don't like it when people try to negotiate in the comments. In my experience, the people who do that, flake out and don't purchase after you agree to their offer in the comments.

poshinistajen@dannielynn8 So that is why sellers prefer that buyers use the make an offer feature. It is a private place to negotiate and if it doesn't work out it is not a big deal. However having comments that can't be removed on an item really sucks... Because then everyone knows your lowest. In my experience there seems to be a lot of shoppers who make offers in comments but don't have the funds to buy or will ask you to hold. It is very frustrating.

poshinistajen@dannielynn8 So to answer your question regarding making offers, you can find another listing in the seller's closet, tell them how much you like the other item and ask if they would be open to "X" price. Or just comment on the item and ask if they would be willing to drop the price by 10%. That way you aren't speaking about specific numbers, just percentages. Hope this helps!

poenellaI had a girl ask me to bundle 22 of my items. Even sent me her phone # to text her. Took me about 45 min to change my entire closet around her. In the end she turned out to be crazy and never purchased anything. She wasted about 2 hrs of my day. My items were really reasonable too. I felt really screwed with. Not cool. I'm learning just how far I will go for a $6 item. What's worse is when you get a low ball offer, and you look at their prices and everything is high!!! Thanks for this!!👍

Hell, at 4 or more items I am like "bundle it yourself and I will adjust the discount accordingly, just to make sure we have all the right items". Man. I am so sorry that happened to you. poshinistajen@poenella I find that the lower my prices the more lowballers and crazy people I get. So I have raised prices on a lot of things to keep people like that away. But I accept offers and I also give bigger discounts to returning customers. You may want to increase your prices if you get a ton of crazies. They want garage sale prices. Anyway, you should be able to just screenshot the image and crop it when you upload to Posh.

Some people need to just go shop garage sales and Goodwill if they want those kind of prices. $8 doesn't even cover my time to photograph and list something.

shopaholic9847@poshinistajen Another pet peeve of mine is when people offer lowballs on hot items that sell almost instantaneously on PM to begin w/ bc at that point they're just doing it to mess with you. I had a person offer $10 on a lululemon sports bra that retails upwards of $45+ ... needless to say it was snagged by another awesome posher in less than an hour after I listed it and BEFORE m I even had the chance to notice the insulting price offer. I just block those buyers, lol.

I love a bargain but some people are just nuts to think I will take $2 for an item after Posh fees. But there are some awesome buyers on here who keep coming back and never complain about prices. But I know some people just submit lowball to see if the seller is active. So I usually don't decline right away. I will always negotiate or just keep sending the same number over and over until they get the hint that is the lowest price.

Some of the charts I have seen are pretty amusing. It's fairly common for people to offer 50% to 70% off asking price. I have just gotten used to it and price accordingly.

ccbd76I've noticed way more low-ball offers in the last 6-10 months - insulting offers (20% of list price so asking for an 80% discount?!?!). I've taken to flat out rejecting the offensive offers because there never is a middle ground with those people no matter how hard you try.

I always counter offer and I will offer the same low price up to 3 times before I finally decline. A few times I have been pleasantly surprised that the low bowlers have come up to my asking price.
