blandw@dandeliondown Dress forms and manikins are a great way to display your clothing if you can’t get a friend to model them for you. I bought my latest dress form off of Amazon. Another tip is that they just had PoshFest and the founders and other key people are sharing tips. Look at the blue ribbon at the top of your news feed and you will see the poshfest announcement. My issue with my dress form is that it is almost impossible to get certain fabrics to pull over it. I'll cobble something together. Thank you again.

I've only been on PM for 3 weeks now & I'm having fun however I feel like I could be doing much better. I am behind on my news "feed" which has gotten me behind in following, sharing, etc I am keeping up with sharing with ppl who has shared my listings but trying to go back a week to catch up on follows is blowing my mind. blandw@lmfashion Hi Lynn! Welcome to Posh!!! The newsfeed is a constant source of worry for me too because I miss a lot when I am work. The quickest way to check your feed and also to go back days upon days is via your pc. You can scroll so much faster with a mouse than you can with an iPad or phone. Now you can't make any edits on the pc, but you can make comments on listings and share your listings super quickly too. Does this make sense? 😄

thesassyblondes@blandw It does! I use my IPad & phone. Didn't even think abt using my laptop. How funny you get so used to using the newer technology. The laptop & PC are almost extinct in my mind now. Yikes!! I have Fibromyalgia & have been out of work on LTD since 2008 so I don't use my computer everyday like I used to. My IPad is best for sharing vs my phone. You can share more etc. Ok! Wow! Thx. I have a plan now. Just needed someone to talk it thru with. I'm also interested in becoming a SU at some point & would love your help & guidance! I know I need to meet some of the big hitters like you say & surround myself with the ppl who play by the rules. In going thru some closets who follow me they don't follow PM guidelines so I cannot, in good conscious, follow bk. I've really had some anxiety abt my news feed & following & who to follow but in talking to you I feel much better. blandw@careygirl Suggested User status is determined solely by Poshmark. I don't think any of us know why some people get SU right away and others are on Posh for a long time before the big day happens. My hubby's theory is that it's based on metrics of selling and buying- how much do you sell and how much do you buy? But that's just his personal opinion and I have no idea really. But I do know that when the day comes around that Poshmark assesses your closet they check to make sure you are following all guidelines (i.e. no fake goods, no children's or men's clothing, no trading, no PP). Some people write to Poshmark. Some people find a big-time Posher to be their mentor. Posh is a very social platform so I would recommend getting to know others via chats and conversations. I have had many deep discussions with my PFFs (Posh friends forever. LOL!) regarding religion, health, kids... and on and on. Just as in real life, your Poshmark best friends will have your back and are your best promoters. And frequently your PFFs on Poshmark become your real-life best friends too. How awesome is that? 😀😀😀

mygoodvibetribe@blandw Hi!! Nice to meet you :) This post was SO helpful for me to read, thank you for sharing! I am fairly new to Posh and still getting a hold on the whole sharing and supporting others while trying to keep up answering requests and comments on my own closet. I hope to get a hold of it soon as I do see how important it is to share the hard work and great items of fellow Poshers. My first transaction was a trade, which I REALLY hope is not held against me as at first I didn't really know that was not allowed, I saw so many others doing it I figured it was allowed and just not supported (like if a package got lost or wrong item was sent, Posh couldn't step in to help) but I was lucky and had a nice and honest trade but no knowing it's so frowned upon, I won't be doing that again!!! Also, I had my first sale the other day and had a semi panic attack when the post office didn't have the right mailing box, they were out....eek....I went door to door to stores until I found a brown box I could 'take off their hands' ;) I am such an honest person that I was afraid to even ship my items out in the wrong box, haha. I need to get to the point where I just order my boxes from USPS online and have them delivered, still confused about what exact ones are the "right" ones bc I have seen photos from other poshers with numerous different ones, which gets confusing for a new-be. I think at this point my safest is to just continue with the brown box as I can easily rip off previous labels and for my smaller items(like jewelry and wallets) I went out and bought a bundle of those yellow/orangish padded envelopes, I hope those are ok :0 Anyways, I just wanted to introduce myself and hope to stay in touch with you!! :) Thanks again for the wonderful info share :)))

ottersoutfits@blandw Wow so much helpful info in one place! ^-^ I had a question if you don't mind helping the clueless along hahah. I was wondering if there is any means to change a picture or description on a sold item? It doesn't seem there is anyway to delete or remove completely but I've noticed several closets who have sold listings and their pictures are each a uniform image usually with the word "sold." I have started seeing some success in selling my items and would like to mention my closet to family and friends. Unfortunately there are some items in my closet being sold which were gifts that were not returnable. I don't wish to cause hurt feelings for the original gift giver if they see the item was sold.

blandw@jferr114 good morning and happy Monday!!! Oh goodness, I know what you mean! I've gotten gifts before that weren't my style or I would never use. LOL. Unfortunately you cant alter the listings on items already sold but you CAN change the cover photo to a "sold" cover pic when you know someone is going to buy an item. As time goes by your sold items will drop to the bottom of your closet so hopefully no one will notice their gift that was sold. Stop in any time you have more questions! 😀😀😀

lovecolor7I've been here since October 2013 and you are one of the very few that has been kind and generous with your knowledge. It has either been very nasty, déclassé ladies using the SU benefit to brow beat or harass others or super selfish ones who pretend to be Giselle or something. You are a rare gem, a good posher who is a SU because she is doing right by everyone and part of doing right is not changing because posh was generous enough to grant you a great number of followers. I realize we only have over 700 followers and that's not a lot but I feel like I need to do more to start making some sales. Anything you could advise me to do I will do it. Also...How and where do I find all those Hearts, faces, lipstick, shoes...I see them all over and I do not know how to find them..anything you could tell me to do to shape up our closet would be greatly appreciated. blandw@twobrokefriends Hi Mandy! Good morning to you my dear. It seems like it takes forever to get to the first 1000 followers but then things begin to change after that. Because as those 1000 followers share to their followers the chances of people following you increases exponentially. Find some Poshers that are fairly big and that are friendly- go in to the closet and share the whole darn thing. Talk to them. Get to know them. This will get you noticed and you will make new friends who will be loyal and help to promote you. The app that people are using with the heart and the shoes is called a BeautifulMess. But I would suggest not using that because it makes you look like everyone else. You want to develop a style or look that is uniquely you so that people can immediately identify your closet when they are scrolling through the newsfeed. Whether it's a picture frame or a style of photography or a symbol – while your closet is small is the time to do this. I like to use Rhonna Design and Phoster. But I do use a Beautiful Mess for adding word captions like brand names. Sometimes imitation is the highest form of flattery so you should take some time to look through all the pictures in the newsfeed and in recent parties to find a looking like and then closely examine it to see why you think it is special. Some people also create their brand with something as simple as the same background every single time.

blandw@havenb1 Hi Haven, my little lost lamb. When you see nothing in a profile that usually means that this person is a buyer rather than a seller and I would not be concerned at all. Some of my best sales have been through people like this. You are protected by Poshmark on all of your transactions as long as they are through posh. I did have a buyer use a fraudulent credit card once but Poshmark refunded my money. But that was only one instance in almost 2 years so I think that's pretty good! crazyw5I have contacted many members in the past I am now asking for any advice for you. I have been on PoshMark four almost 1 1/2 years. I have had 320 sales no disputes from anyone, Top 10% in sales snd Fast shipper. I did not always know or follow posh rules did a lot of trading wrong items but in November I straightened out my closet and followed every rule strictly, after contacting other members and being assured that I would reap the benefits of doing so, since this time my sales have plummeted, I have not had one host pick, (only had 3 before then)To say I am discouraged is an understatement. I have tried very hard to promote everyone, attend parties, fallow and share share share. not only do I get no recognition from posh I also get no recognition from my fellow poshers. Any advice would be appreciated

The party is for the Posh Community and to give closets permanent exposure through host picks. We can share 5-10 items in our own closet as Host Picks but that's 10% that I can't give to other people and I want to give 100% back!!

blandw@girlyfajas Hi there! I hate to be the bearer of bad news but that is completely correct. LOL! In fact I was doing exactly what you did in the beginning too. So here's what you do... Share your closet items to the party once and then concentrate on sharing items from other people's closets. Your name will show up as the sharer and people will see how nice you are. Then they will share your items which will go to their followers. 😍

What a hard way to learn things and I'm sorry that posh couldn't help you out with the post office but I'm sure that you can't file two claims on the same item. And I guess that they have to file a claim in order to be able to refund your customers money. How long has it been? I have had packages take up to five days to scan in the PO system. Is there a chance that things could work out after all?

It would certainly be the easiest answer, wouldn't it? 😊 Two weeks is been a long time – much longer than any delayed package that I have ever sent on Posh. Go to My Purchases, click on your order, and then request to cancel the sale (I think you see this listed as Problems with Your Order ...or something like that). I hope that works for you! Bland

dandeliondownThank you! I'm putting together a few hundred items to list, but finding a good dress model is hard. The one I have is almost impossible to use. I hate seeing items on a hanger on the closet or bathroom door. Seems like they don't care if they sell or not. Gives me NO confidence in them at all. Do "vignettes" do well as long as measurements are given? I have a work history that includes a TOO MUCH retail so I know how to merchandise well, and it was the one part of retail I really enjoyed.

blandw@dandeliondown Hello there and welcome to Poshmark! Looking at your feed is the best way to determine what is the best way to display clothes. Scroll through the feed and make a note of the ones that catch your eye and are appealing to you and then ask yourself why? Are they close-ups, or clean backgrounds, or artistic vignettes? Are they on a manikin or are they modeled in person?

blandw@dandeliondown Are they using retail cover shot specific to the item they are selling? If you’ve been in retail before then you likely have a terrific eye for displays. On Poshmark you are just reducing your display to fit into a square picture. Trust your instinct.
