Being a Friday night during the holidays, there is a minimum cover we must meet. It can be sit down or reception. I'm going to access as we get closer how many I have coming and how best to meet the minimum. Any ideas? @enigma @missaisha555 @sheelagoh

queenmumm@missaisha555 @sheelagoh I just added to mine saying that each guest would be EXPECTED to place a food/beverage order to help meet minimum. I think it is necessary the guests know that up front only because of the time of year and being a Friday night.

sheelagohI was considering working with the venue to create a package of like two drinks per with some appetisers for a flat fee per person ($15) for a minimum guaranteed number of people @missaisha555 @queenmumm Anything extra would be on the guest themselves.

queenmumm@sheelagoh @missaisha555 there is a section on eventbrite that talks about how to charge for your event and what fees are involved. There is a processing fee (2.5% plus 99 cents per ticket) plus a credit card fee of 3%. The monies are held at eventbrite for up to 5 days after the event, at which time you can opt to be paid by check or direct deposit. It's quite detailed, and may be the reason for free tickets. For a $25 ticket, $2.37 in fees is added and goes directly to eventbrite. The guest pays more upfront but you'll know your minimum is covered.

queenmumm@sheelagoh Of course I do not mind if you changed yours! One thing you can ask your venue if you must do a restaurant that requires a minimum for the space - see if they will allow you to cover the minimum in exchange for gift cards to that restaurant. It is noted in my contract with mine - if I don't have enough guests, etc. to cover it. It's one of our fave restaurants so I'll easily get my money back when we dine there again...and again....and again... ;)
