@mermaidsongs Hi Ashley. Yes you can wear it closed. There are fasteners that close shut. I took a couple of pictures for you. The third shows you what it looks like closed. And the last picture is of the fasteners on the inside of the jacket. (The color in these last two images is not the best depiction bc they were taken under a bright light. It is a deep red like the first two images.) Please let me know if you have any other questions :)
