Vintage 50s or 60s genuine Mink fur swing coat by House of Mark’s Furs Detroit. A gorgeous warm cream color. This is so special, but needs some help! One sleeve has partly detached from the coat, there’s a hole in the other shoulder where it’s starting to separate, the collar needs to be re-sewn inside to sit correctly & the silk lining has mildew stains - needs a cleaning + to be re-attached to coat where the hem has come undone. This doesn’t smell bad, but smells like old fur. On the underside of the pelt, I think I can make out “EMBA” which is The Mutation Mink Breeders Association formed in 1942. These ranchers specialized in mink fur in bright clear colors (not dyed, all natural). They were rare lighter color variations, which makes sense with this fur. Otherwise, I have no paperwork or guarantee this is actual Mink fur besides the serial number inside pocket (see pic). It feels so luxurious! This belonged to Florence Burnside apparently, and the silk lining is embroidered. She must have been a stylish lady! 2 side velvet-lined pockets, 2 hook front closures. Turn collar up for warmth. Modeled on a Women’s size S/M 34B 5’5” & this fits me well, could fit a range of sizes bc of swing coat silhouette. Up to a Women’s L probably. Unisex. Please note all flaws, this is sold as-is.
I really hate to let this gorgeous coat go! Hoping to find it a good home where someone can repair it correctly. I don’t have a furrier anywhere near me.
