Absolutely STUNNING Zircon parcel. Each stone displays multiple colors, with intense fiery hues. Pictures were taken in cloudy conditions, and vastly understates how intense the color is on each of these. Total weight for this parcel is 4.29 carats, with each stone being unheated and untreated in any way. They are from Madagascar, and are all VS clarity. Zircon is NOT cubic zirconia and is not related to it or any other simulant in any way. It is a natural mined stone, and in fact Zircon found in Australia is the oldest mineral on earth at 4.4 billion years old. The name ‘Zircon’ derives from the Persian word ‘zargun’ meaning golden hued. Zircons (and possibly other gems) in the pinkish-purplish-reddish color range were historically referred to as “Hyacinth” or “Jacinth”.
