All four outside edges are double stitched for durability. All of my blankets are filled with a dense plastic pellet. These pellets are non toxic and non allergenic. They are unused, unrecycled virgin pellets which have never been processed. They are made to comply with FDA standards for direct food contact. Pockets of squares or rectangles are sewn in the blanket to hold the plastic weighted pellets evenly throughout the blanket. The pockets are approximately 3-6 inches squares.
