The 3" pipe that is typically stored in the dugout (pipe not included) is a specialized chillum that closely resembles a cigarette in size & shape. Can be in metal, ceramic, or glass in construction, it has a shallow recess ("crater") at one end into which the herb is loaded; this may be fitted with a pre-shaped screen to prevent drawing down herb particles to clog the channel, which extends from the crater to the opposite end of the pipe.
