2~Holly Hobbie Decorative Porcelain Eggs Figurine - "Love is and Home is" - East

These are two wonderful vintage eggs figurines. These are small porcelain eggs that are decorated with a lithograph image of the Holly Hobbie "Home is where true happiness grows" and the words "Love is the nicest gift of all". The eggs are 2.75 inches tall and 2 inches in diameter. The eggs are in great vintage condition. ~ The bonnet-girl character was a popular design of American writer and illustrator Holly Hobbie that was created for American Greetings Company in the late 1960s. The nameless character was eventually dubbed "Holly Hobbie" after her artist. She was made into a line of rag dolls produced by Knickerbocker Toys in 1974 and featured in a book by Richard Dubelman in 1980. She was once again revived by Mattel in 2006 with a new line of dolls and a cartoon series. Holly Hobbie, the author, is also the creator of the popular "Toot and Puddle" children's books. ~
