Snuff bottles were used by the Chinese general population during the Qing dynasty to contain powdered tobacco. Smoking tobacco was illegal during the dynasty but the use of snuff was allowed because the Chinese considered the snuff to be a remedy for common illnesses. The snuff bottle is comparable to the snuff box used by Europeans. This piece measures about 2.5 inches tall and 1.5 inches wide. The cork is damaged however the top and piece are in great condition no chips or cracks or damage. Please check your pictures as they are part of the description and please ask questions prior to purchase.
