This commemorative coin, produced by the Department of the Treasury, US Mint to commemorate the centennial anniversary of the Statue of Liberty. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this coin was authorized to support restoration of the Statue and Ellis Island. This coin is legal tender in the United States. Both coins were minted in San Francisco Original packaging and Certificate of Authenticity provided. Purchased in 1987, this coin is part of my late husband's collection.
