1980s real Leather Elbow Patch---on 'Blue Label' Ralph Lauren design Corduroy Blazer size "M". While this coat is more of a "Large" in contemporary standards..its another listing from the studio days for other items. Next best thing to the comfort ..are the saddlebag pockets.. The blazer is really well made more popular Ralph Lauren line [Blue Label]. While it seems unnecessary to point out that Corduroy is made by weaving extra sets of fibers into the base fabric to form vertical ridges called wales: this blazer is warm and hefty [not lightweight like in current materials]. As for the look and fit ..its as if the late Robbin Williams' [1951-2014] character John Charles Keating (e.g., “Captain” or Mr. Keating) in "Dead Poets Society" (1989) had one of his blazers picked up by Jean-Michel Basquiat (1960 – 1988) [see last photo taken by Andy Warhol (1928 – 1987)]. Yes ..after seeing the King Pleasure exhibition earlier this Summer ..this blazer totally fit the vibe in those installations of the painter's studio. Of course none of this above is true: except there is a real person ..Samuel F. "Sam" Pickering Jr. ..that the Dead Poets script was loosely premised on [and perhaps the writers creative homage to Keats (1795-1821)???]. Also.. this was owned by Los Angeles based artist [painter].
