The Mikasa Wheat Brown pattern on porcelain is a rare find from the 1970's. Designed by Cathy Hardwick and produced in Japan, it features a brown and white abstraction of wheat leaves and sheaves. This listing, which includes a cup and saucer, and dinner plate, features this pattern in excellent condition.
The trio for sale appears to have been rarely, if ever, used. There are no knife marks or scratches to the design, no cracks or crazing, and just the tiniest speck of white (see last photo, next to earring backing, for size) on the plate's surface. The cup holds 8 oz, the saucer measures 6" across, and the dinner plate, 10.5" across. These hard-to-find items would make a great replacement for a beloved set, or an eye-catching addition to a display cabinet.
