1968 MLK Memorial Bracelet

This interesting 1960s memorial bracelet has a domed locket displaying pictures of Rev. Martin Luther King on one side and Senator Robert Kennedy on the other. Since Dr. King and Senator Kennedy were assassinated two months apart in 1968, I believe this bracelet was made that year. The locket is very wide with a lot of detail and beading on the edges. I couldn't figure out how to open the locket so it's still shut. It's a metal locket and the domes on the pictures are plastic. The links on the bracelet are very sturdy and it closes with a foldover clasp. The clasp locks tightly but doesn't fold all the way open; it may have been manufactured to function like that. It's in fairly good condition for a bracelet that was probably produced very quickly. The pictures are original to the bracelet. I've seen other lockets like this with these images but they were pendants. -- The bracelet is slightly over 7" long. There's nothing missing or chipped. The plastic domes have darkened somewhat and there are scratches. The images inside have been preserved for 50 years and appear fresh. All jewelry is sent in a presentation box at no additional charge.
