Vintage Mirro Aluminum Cake Safe – Model 2002 KM, Made in USA, circa 1960s–70s
Spun aluminum cake carrier with mechanical locking dome lid and original black Bakelite-style handle. Measures approx. 10" diameter x 7" tall. Stamped with mid-century Mirro mark.
Exterior is bright and reflective, with light surface wear and a few small dings—a few near the top rolled edge and one at the base. These do not detract from its overall presentation. Locking mechanism functions smoothly.
A sturdy and stylish piece of American kitchen history, ideal for display or continued use.
The Mirro Aluminum Company, originally founded in 1909 as the Aluminum Goods Manufacturing Company in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, became one of the world’s largest producers of aluminum cookware. The Mirro brand debuted in 1917 and quickly became a household name, known for its durable, lightweight kitchenware. During World War II, the company retooled to support military production, and in 1957 officially adopted the name Mirro Aluminum Company. Its products—ranging from pots and pans to bakeware and even aluminum toys—reflected mid-century American innovation and domestic life. Though the company ceased U.S. operations in 2003, Mirro pieces remain beloved for their utility and nostalgic charm.
