1960s Mod Black & White Bead Necklace & Clip Earrings Set — Gold-Tone Cabochon Box Clasp — Lucite/Plastic Beads — Op-Art Vibes — As-Is
Graphic, go-with-everything black-and-white beads with a touch of gold—total mid-century mod! The single-strand necklace mixes glossy white rounds, striped/swirled “zebra” beads, tiny white ribbed spacers, and black oval accents. A gold-tone box clasp is topped with a domed white cabochon so it looks pretty from both sides. Matching cluster clip-on earrings finish the set.
Maker/mark: original little hang tag is present but worn/illegible; the set is otherwise unsigned.
Era: c. 1960s (mod/op-art styling)
Materials: gold-tone base metal, plastic/Lucite beads (white rounds & striped swirls), clip findings
Closure: push-box/tongue clasp with side safety hook; functions
Measurements (approx.)
• Necklace length: ~28 in
• Largest white round bead: ~3/4 in
• Earrings: ~1–1.25 in across
Condition (vintage, sold as-is)
• Wear from age/use throughout (finish wear/toning, a little verdigris on metal backs, light surface marks to beads).
• One striped bead on the necklace is cracked/split (see close-ups). Still wearable as is, or a great candidate for a quick restring/replacement bead if desired.
• Clips have good tension.
Cleaned only lightly to preserve patina.
Styling
Killer with a black turtleneck, white tee + denim, or any mod mini. Let the clasp show—it’s decorative!
