Hand-thrown mid-century studio pottery pitcher dated 1956 and incised "scottie" on the base. Wheel-thrown stoneware with a variegated reduction glaze—earthy rust, olive, and celadon tones—showing lovely kiln variation. Scooped pouring lip and sturdy pulled handle; great as a creamer, syrup or batter pitcher, or rustic vase. Approx. 4.5" H x 7.25" W (spout to handle). No chips, cracks, or repairs; expected light surface wear from age. A handsome example of 1950s American studio ceramics.
