1953 Edition 'The Bridges at Toko-ri' by James Michener Hardcover Book

Hardcover edition (1st. ed.?) of 'The Bridges at Toko-ri' by James A. Michener. The book is in excellent condition with plastic covering. There is a pencil inscription on the first page. I hesitate to erase that as it lends to authenticate the date. On the front at the top, the jacket, along with the plastic cover, is slightly bent (shown in the last photo). However, it is intact and not torn. I take great care of all of my books, particularly those of first or early editions.
