Original late-1950s DuPont Duco Gloss Enamel die-cut paintbrush display, designed for hardware and paint stores to promote Duco's durable interior/exterior enamel line. The bold red, black, and blue color scheme reflects DuPont's streamlined mid-century branding, while the oversized brush design made it a striking counter or window display.
This piece dates to around 1957–59, when DuPont reintroduced the Duco Gloss Enamel formula for both wood and metal surfaces. The company emphasized versatility — "For Wood and Metal, Inside-Outside" — during this period, aligning with the postwar boom in do-it-yourself home renovation.
This sign has it's original fold out easel back and counter tape. Some creases and paper peeling from cardboard at both sides of the brush handle. Some surface stains, edge & corner wear. Overall retains excellent color and gloss. A clean and scarce piece of mid-century DuPont advertising, ideal for collectors of paint, hardware, or industrial Americana.
