Original 1950s Curtiss Fruit Drops bus / trolley card featuring bold mid-century lettering, a bright spill of multicolored fruit drops, and the iconic Curtiss logo.
Colors remain vivid with crisp graphics, displaying extremely well with despite cracks / tears in original paper, not the cardboard. Edge & corner wear, marks, & some small areas of surface loss. The piece retains a clean back and shows beautifully as a horizontal candy aisle style transit card.
Curtiss Candy Co, famous for Baby Ruth and Butterfinger, produced a range of premium litho trolley and bus cards during the 1940s - 50s to promote their expanded product lines. Fruit Drops were marketed as a colorful, modern alternative to traditional hard candies, and large format transit signs like this were used across city transportation routes, making surviving examples uncommon. A striking and highly displayable piece of postwar confectionery advertising.
