Heidi Heimann for Rorstrand
Swedish Pitcher
Large - One-of-a-kind - MINT
DESCRIPTION: Truly magnificent, this Rorstrand pitcher embodies the essence of its designer, who specialized in pictoral, decorative art pottery with Mediterranean themes.
Heidi Heimann worked for Rorstrand a short period of time in the 1940s. Her production consisted mainly of vases, pitchers, and bowls. This piece was purchased by me, in Sweden and has been authenticated by Jenny Hallstrom of the Rorstrand Museum. Heidi's pieces are extremely rare.
The pitcher is large - standing about 10-/1/4" tall and measuring about 11" from spout to handle. The free-form, flowing Spanish life is depicted as you walk your eyes through the village from one side of the pitcher to the other. Must be seen to truly appreciate. It has the Rorstrand "R" painted on the bottom as well as the three crown emblem. It is in perfect condition with no chips, cracks or crazing. The paint is bright and crisp, showing no signs of wear.
If you love Scandinavian art pottery and glass as much as I, you will be thrilled with this treasure.
