This 1940s vintage tin was used as a sewing tin and during WW2 as a lunch tin when women entered the work force. Most contained cookies at time of purchase. This tin features a lithographic rose cross stitch design in pinks and greens on a black background. It was my Grandmother’s it was her lunch box and later became her sewing box. I have enjoyed it as a decor piece. It has been well used and loved over the years. This tin sports two metal handles that swing out of the way to open the lid. Measuring 11 inches long, 8 inches wide and 4 inches tall (7.5 inches high with the handles up), it is in good condition for its age with lots of wear, spots, paint loss, scratches, fading and dents in the lid.
