This listing is for a set of 4 Somayaki or “Soma Ware” tea cups. The Double Wall cups with cut-out hearts and a stunning green crackle glaze, were made in the Fukushima area of Japan. The Somayaki cups are 3.25” in diameter and have gold trim. Somayaki is a style of pottery that started over 300 years ago in Fukushima, Northern Japan, on the island of Honshu.
The Somayaki pottery features double wall, or multiple layer construction, to keep the liquid hot on the inside and cool to the touch on the outside.
