This is a stunning 1940s Coro butterfly brooch crafted in gold-plated metal with vibrant faceted rhinestones in red, green, and blue. The design features two teardrop-cut red rhinestone wings and two marquise-cut emerald green lower wings, each in open-back settings with gold foil backs for added brilliance. The body is composed of two blue faceted rhinestones — a teardrop for the lower body and a round chaton for the upper body.
The back of the brooch is stamped Coro in script and fitted with a riveted rolling C clasp. The butterfly’s tiny eye indentations are present but no longer set; this minor detail does not detract from the beauty or collectability of the piece. A classic and colorful example of 1940s Coro craftsmanship, perfect for collectors or as a lovely gift.
