Original 1940 railroad advertising sign promoting the "Travel on Credit" program that allowed passengers to purchase tickets or full vacation tours with small monthly payments. The piece shows expected age toning, some surface marks, and minor edge wear from use, but the graphics remain clear and the stand-back is still present. Displays well with strong typography and period imagery of a ticket counter and travelers.
Created for America's railroads during "Travel America Year," this campaign pushed affordable national tourism at the tail end of the Depression and just before WWII. These posters were produced in relatively small quantities for station counters and travel bureaus, making surviving examples desirable among railroad, transportation, and Depression-era advertising collectors.
