This is a rare vintage Japanese Moriage terracotta teapot, likely from the mid-20th century.
Key features include:
Material: Terracotta with a brown glaze
Design: Hand-painted with raised floral design in the Moriage style, featuring reddish and blue flowers with a touch of white flowers with gold trim.
The Moriage technique involves applying slip (liquid clay) to create the beautiful raised decorations giving the teapot a textured, three dimension appearance.
Origin: Made in Japan, possible the 1940-1950's

This piece has been well cared for and in excellent vintage condition, a very rare find.
The original tag is still on the bottom, please see the photos, it reads "Imports Enesco Japan"
The teapot is approximately 9" across the top, 7-1/2" to the top of the lid and base 3"
