Stunning portrait of Luise Rainer, a movie star from the 1930s, German born and multiple Oscar winner. This portrait is drawn by Nicholas Volpe in 1962. Volpe was well know for drawing portraits of movie stars, and created this series of Academy Award Nominated actors and actresses. Here, Luise is drawn as her character in 1936’s “The Great Ziegfeld”. Unfortunately, there appears to be some water damage on very bottom, not terribly noticeable. In a simple brown wood frame, 8.5x11 and ready for hanging!
