1925 Suomalainen Virsikirja Finnish Lutheran Hymnal Sortavala Print Antique Book

Antique Finnish Lutheran hymnal, Suomalainen Virsikirja (Finnish Hymnbook), printed in Sortavala, 1925 by the Suomen Kirkon Sisälähetysseura (Finnish Church’s Home Mission Society). Originally approved at the 1886 General Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland. Black textured cloth cover with embossed border and cross/floral design. Small pocket-size format. Language: Finnish Condition: Shows age-related wear to covers and edges, some browning/foxing of pages, but overall intact and readable. Binding is firm. This is a wonderful collectible for those interested in antique hymnals, Finnish church history, Lutheran heritage, or pre-WWII Finnish printing (especially rare as Sortavala was later ceded to the Soviet Union).
