1917 Wheat Cent And 1940P Error Coins

1917 penny: good condition. L on rim, but that's a common error. Decent strike, but 44 years of circulation took its toll on coins features. This was in my dad's collection since 1961 until this year. coin has slight clipped planchet on right side. I have other examples that are more extreme, so this one has to go. 1940P nickel: good condition but just barely. don't know the history of this coin, but it appears to be a planchet clip as well. this possibly could be post mint damage. the local coin shops are undecided. some say yes, and some say post mint damage. I dont know. you can make that call. Reverse of this coin has a die chip on the A in America. this coin is well circulated like the penny it's paired with. both coins in flips ready to ship.
