WWI-era local military medal was awarded by the Township of Hamburg, New York to honor residents for their patriotic service during the First World War (1917–1918). Made by C.H. Co., a known American medal manufacturer, it features a bronze-toned six-pointed star medallion with an American eagle on the front and a personalized inscription on the reverse. The original red, white, and blue ribbon is still attached, though aged and frayed, and the top bar reads "VICTORY" in raised letters. These medals were issued by various New York towns and cities in place of or alongside federal military honors to recognize the contributions of local servicemen.
