Rare early Arizona mining documents – Hull Copper Company (Jerome, AZ)
Offered here are two original pieces of early 20th century mining ephemera related to the Hull Copper Company of Jerome, Arizona, an important copper mining district.
• 1909 Letter: Typed letter on letterhead of O.B. Stanton & Son – Stocks and Bonds (Philadelphia), dated February 9, 1909, addressed to L.H. Richardson of Flint, Michigan. The letter discusses Hull Copper stock subscriptions, mining progress in the Cleopatra Tunnel, and optimism about future ore production. Signed at the bottom.
• 1916 Agreement: Typed legal document dated July 27, 1916, assigning Hull Copper Company shares between L.H. Richardson and Hugh MacKay (Manager), with reference to certificate numbers. Signed in ink.
Both pieces are original period documents, over 100 years old, and provide a fascinating look into the copper boom era and promotional efforts surrounding Hull Copper.
Condition: Both documents show age toning, folds, and minor edge wear consistent with storage. No major damage; text remains clear and legible.
