Carolina Herrera Kinetic Art Silk Layer Cocktail Dress Size 8 US (Fits True) 35"Bust, 28"Waist, 38"Hip, 38"L This Carolina Herrera dress comes from her Kinetic Art collection, inspired by the work of artists Carlos Cruz-Diez and Jesus Rafael Soto. The collection emphasized multi-dimensional experience and trompe l'ceil effects. Several variations of this print / dress were featured on the runway, ad campaign and in her museum exhibit. The base construction is a silk twill pencil dress, with a slim tailored shape and a scoop neck in an orange-multi geometric print. The dress has organza overlayers with the same print so it creates a dynamic optical effect when you walk. The bodice's overlayer creates a fluttering "cape" at the back and snaps across the front to create a boatneck neckline. The organza overlayer over the skirt is set on the opposite side as the bodice, creating more of that flutter effect. The waist is nipped in with an orange grosgrain belt and the dress is lined in white silk crepe de chine. The dress is in crisp gently worn condition. There is a small smudge misprint on the under-layer, which is covered by the chiffon and not visible when worn.
