1860s Day Dress Handmade with 1860s Pattern and Instructions

Hand made mustard yellow authentic reenactment stand out day dress! is a very special dress because I made it with an 1860s pattern and went strictly by the authentic instructions. The materials and fabrics are as close as possible to originals, with 100 percent cotton, all but tassel, the muted mustard yellow fabric color and fabric small print are period correct. The bodice is lined before construction so that you can see the seams inside and I sewed tiny piping into the shoulders seams, neckline, sleeve hems and waistline. Rhere are stays sewn into the bodice foe support. It has pagoda style sleeves with an extra sleeve cap sewn into the should which is trimmed with small maroon velvet ribbon and a tassel. There is a double row of the same ribbon at the wrist of the sleeves.
