Created in 1886 by Rogers Bros, the "Assyrian" line of thick silver plated flatware had the ornate pinwheel design on the front of the handle. Serving pieces had a head at the top; regular pieces were plain at the top of the handle. This sugar shell or sugar spoon has the head of a woman well defined at the top and shows why this pattern is also called "Assyrian Head". The bowl of the spoon is fancifully fluted. The back of the handle is plain and is stamped 1847 Rogers Bros A1. The spoon is 6" long and 1 5/8" wide.
circa 1886
Good used condition with signs of vintage wear/use. There is a Monogram initial on the back of the handle. The Letter "D". See photos.
