A colorful vintage lacquerware tray from Kagawa Prefecture, Japan. Can be both decorative and functional.
Finished with natural urushi lacquer, which is labor-intensive and valued for its quality. It also features a traditional komanuri (spinning-top–style) technique, where multiple colored layers are carved into even circular lines to reveal the colors beneath.

Background:
