Vintage Pink Oval Celery Dish ~ Depression Glass ~ Anchor Hocking ~ Mayfair Open Rose Pattern ~ Serving Dish, Rare, Elegant, Princess Pink Table. This beautiful celery dish is part of the extensive line of Mayfair or Open Rose Depression Glass produced by Hocking Glass Co from 1931-1937. The lovely floral pressing complements the angular panels on the bowl and the angular rim, showcasing the emergence of the Art Deco era. This bowl was used to serve long ribs of celery or other long, cold vegetables. The bowl is 11 1/4 inches long from handle to handle and is 5 3/4 inches wide. The lovely, rich pink color of this pattern is very desirable and would coordinate with other glass or China patterns that incorporate pink into the pattern. There are very tiny chips on the edges of the handles. It is magnified in the images for your viewing, but it is virtually invisible when the dish is viewed as a whole.
