The purple case is hard plastic that has a plastic cover over both sides. That is why it appears so odd, like it is scratched or something. The plastic film has never been taken off and this case had never been out of the box until I took it out for pictures. I had just ordered the phone for these cases when I dropped it and shattered the whole thing!
