The hat is clean, a little misshapened but very wearable, there is a noticeable musty smell as if stored with no ventilation in a damp place. I misted it with a vinegar/water spray to freshen the hat, I will also put it in a box with some baking soda and odor absorber pouches. Overall the hat is as pictured, but the smell was unexpected. Even in this condition I would have still purchased the hat because it's very flattering.
